Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Project Management and Administration of State Funding: Work with technical partners and CPR Team to develop scopes of work/grant work plans including budgets; negotiate and administer purchase orders, contracts, and grants, and administer allocated state funds in compliance with state and federal laws, policies and procedures. Track progress and review/approve deliverables and ensure timely completion of assigned projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the CPR Administrator in the financial administration of Florida’s Coral Reef Restoration and Recovery Initiative (FCR3) funding. This may include leading and coordinating meetings, serving as the primary point of contact for grantees, negotiating grant work plans, serving as the lead technical reviewer, approving deliverables, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Lead the development of coral reef restoration and propagation related priorities and projects. This may include serving as the primary point of contact for principal investigators, negotiating scopes of work, serving as a technical reviewer, approving deliverables, reviewing invoices, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Plan, execute, and facilitate projects and related meetings and workshops, as appropriate.
  • Provide technical review for agreements and deliverables including all programmatic finance and accounting transactions.
  • Ensure annual and multi-year budgets are encumbered and spent in a timely manner.
Restoration and Propagation Priorities
  • Work closely with the statewide Propagation Coordinator (UF/FWC) to track and participate in ongoing activities that address statewide restoration and propagation priorities for Florida’s Coral Reef.
  • Support the CPR Administrator in the technical administration of FCR3 by working with DEP Coral Reef Conservation Program staff and partners to identify a network of shoreline protection-related restoration sites throughout the Kristin Jacobs Coral Reef Ecosystem Conservation Area (Coral ECA).
  • Attend and support the Restoration Planning efforts for Tier 1 (state-wide) and Tier 2 (Coral ECA) plans by attending meetings and providing budget recommendations for research gaps to the CPR Administrator. Provide meeting coordination and facilitation with TNC, FKNMS, FWC, and other regional partners and programs, as needed.
  • Lead the SCTLD Restoration Team and attend the Coral Rescue and Propagation Team meetings and participate in sub-groups, as needed, to support regional restoration priorities across Florida’s Coral Reef.
  • Participate in the Florida’s Coral Reef Coordination Team’s meetings, as appropriate. Support the Restoration sub-group, if formed. This may include scheduling and facilitating meetings, developing, and distributing recommendations, and ensuring the integration of coral restoration and protection into ongoing ecosystem restoration projects.
  • Participate in efforts related to the development of educational materials and research that develops consistency through permitting and funding guidance related to hybrid reefs for shoreline protection.
  • Coordinate with DEP ORCP Southeast (SE) Region staff and partners to plan, execute, and facilitate restoration and propagation related meetings and workshops, as needed.
Information Management and Sharing
  • Produce and provide information and/or updates to response partners, agency representatives, leadership, other key partners, and the general public. Information and updates may be in the form of presentations, one-pagers, written or verbal updates, or other products as requested.
