The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a full or part‑time Classical Hematologist for a clinician‑educator or clinician‑researcher track position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant Professor rank or higher. This position seeks a board‑certified/board‑eligible Hematologist. Applicants must be eligible for a Florida Medical License. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment but will also be expected to develop, participate in, and lead clinical/educational/translational research projects;

engage in teaching students, house staff, and fellows in the clinic and inpatient settings; and provide direct patient care at our Gainesville campus. A track record of prior clinical research and scholarly activity is desirable, but not required. Academic interests could include bleeding disorders, thrombotic disorders, hemoglobinopathies, disorders of hemostasis and coagulation, anemias, platelet disorders, microangiopathic hemolytic anemias, and women’s health.

The UF Division of Hematology and Oncology faculty are closely engaged and partners with the University of Florida Health Cancer Center, the only NCI‑Designated Cancer Center based at a public university in Florida. Qualifications

Applicants must be board‑certified or board‑eligible in Hematology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License, or eligible for a Medical Faculty Certificate.

About the Employer

The UF Department of Medicine is a nationally renowned clinical and research team with over 360 faculty in 12 Divisions, multiple major research centers, including the Clinical and Translational Research Institute, the Center for Inflammation and Mucosal Immunology, the UF Health Integrative Medicine Program, the Cell Therapy Research Network, and The Institute of Therapeutic Innovation. The department also plays major leadership roles in the UF Health Cancer Center and the UF Diabetes Institute.

The department supports 116 internal medicine residents and 90 fellows in fellowship programs, spanning our divisions. The department has 12 external clinic sites, and runs all internal medicine clinical services at both the UF Health Shands Teaching Hospital (1,150 beds) and the adjacent Malcolm Randall VA Hospital (240 beds). Medicine services in Shands hospital include: MICU, Intermediate Medical Care Unit, Hospital Medicine, General Medicine teaching services, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Malignant Hematology & BMT, Oncology, Medical Observation Unit, the Endoscopy Center, the Bronchoscopy Center, Medical Cardiology, the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Departmental faculty also serve as Medical Directors for Liver, Kidney, and Pancreatic transplantation.
