Must possess a Florida Medical License or Medical Faculty Certificate and have specialty interest and experience in Neuro‑Trauma/Acute Care Neurosurgery.
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine‑Jacksonville seeks a full‑time Neurosurgery faculty at the non‑tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be BC/BE or equivalent in Neurosurgery, possess a Florida Medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate, and have specialty interest and experience in Neuro‑Trauma/Acute Care neurosurgery. UF Health Jacksonville is the only level‑one trauma hospital in the region with a large and complex volume of Neuro‑trauma patients.
The faculty will be part of the division of acute care neurosurgery and needs to be proficient with the management of both cranial and spine neurosurgical patients. The candidate will also work to enhance and further develop the Acute Care Neurosurgery division, including building interdepartmental collaborations, treatment protocols, and clinical and translational research, and teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
This position reports to the Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery and supports shared general neurosurgery responsibilities, teaching, and research.
- Provide high quality direct patient care for inpatients and outpatients, with specific emphasis on Neuro‑Trauma.
- Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Neurosurgery and participate in the educational and research programs of the institution.
- Participate as a member of the Neurosurgery team through collaborative conferences.
- Serve rotational Level‑1 trauma call, attend monthly division meetings, administrative functions, and institutional committees as requested.
Academic appointment will commensurate with training and level of experience; benefits are excellent.
Required QualificationsMD/DO in Neurological Surgery. Must possess a Florida Medical License or Medical Faculty Certificate and have specialty interest and experience in Neuro‑Trauma/Acute Care Neurosurgery.
PreferredBC/BE or equivalent in Neurosurgery is preferred.
