The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida invites applications for multiple full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor. The positions have an anticipated start date of August 2026. We are seeking candidates in all areas related to Electrical & Computer Engineering.
However, we have a special interest in candidates with backgrounds in Quantum Computing/Communications/Networking/Signal Processing, Advanced Packaging, Artificial Intelligence, RF Electronics, and MEMS.
The faculty members will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the electrical & computer engineering curricula; initiate and sustain externally sponsored research programs; recruit and supervise graduate students; and engage in service activities for the University and the profession. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a related field by the start date. Dedication to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and evidence of scholarly achievements are required.
The candidate should have a record of or demonstrate the potential for successful proposal writing, Ph.D. student mentoring, scholarship, and classroom teaching.
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Florida ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) has 60 faculty members working in all aspects of electrical & computer engineering and is expected to grow in upcoming years. The total student population is approximately 600 with nearly 280 in the Ph.D. program. UF is home to Hi Per Gator , the fastest AI supercomputer in higher education, and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is undergoing a major expansion in faculty, research, and facilities with a strong focus on artificial intelligence.
