COACH - SEASONAL

St. Francis Catholic Academy is looking for experienced Coaches to serve as assistants for various seasons. Prior coaching experience is preferred.

A member of the Roman Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine, the assistant coach will work under the direction of the school principal and the Athletic Director to support the school and the diocese in its mission to evangelize, catechize, and educate youth in a Catholic school environment.

Under the direction of the school principal and the Athletic Director, the coach is responsible for supporting the school and the Diocese of St. Augustine in their mission to evangelize, catechize, and educate youth in a Catholic school environment.

• Instruct and work with athletes to prepare them for competition.
• Help athletes play their best individually or as a team in sports.
• Serve as an expert on rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
• Provide knowledge of sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
• Create an environment where the team can use its skills and abilities to their maximum potential.
• Establish a consistent disciplinary approach that promotes self‑direction and positive self‑image; set high standards for student behavior and manage inappropriate behavior effectively.
• Demonstrate professional responsibility in enforcing school policies and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of information; display sound judgment in dress and general behavior, and follow school dress code standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Coordination and manual dexterity; normal mental and visual capabilities.
• Ability to lift, as required.

• Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling; hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.

• Excellent communication skills, including written and oral, public speaking and presentation skills.
• Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; self‑starter; well‑organized; team player.
• Available for evening and weekend work as necessary.
• Reliable transportation.
