SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Director of Nutrition – School Nutrition Manager.
Essential Functions- 1. Follows production schedules and time schedules as prescribed by the School Nutrition Manager.
- 2. Maintains the highest standard of safety, cleanliness, and orderliness in the kitchen, work areas, and storage areas.
- 3. Participates in the preparation of food within an established production system following recipes, preparation and service methods, and food handling techniques to ensure acceptable standards.
- 4. Complies with oral and written instructions.
- 5. Operates and cleans all kitchen equipment both small and large.
- 6. Follows all cleaning schedules daily.
- 7. Reports faulty equipment to the Manager.
- 8. Reports any food of inferior quality to the Manager.
- 9. Stores food and other related items, planning for the use of leftovers with the School Nutrition Manager.
- 10. Must follow all rules in the employee handbook.
- 11. Completes job assignments within the number of hours designated as the regular school day.
- 12. Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene and conduct.
- 13. Follows Board policies and procedures of the district and the School Nutrition Program.
- 14. Adapts well to emergencies and new situations.
- 15. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- 16. Willingness to accept change.
- 17. Accepts constructive criticism from the School Nutrition Manager.
- 18. Attends all meetings as directed.
- 19. Attends all in-service training annually.
- 20. Attends relevant training classes and workshops.
- 21. Performs all other duties, and assumes all other school related responsibilities, as assigned by the School Nutrition Manager and/or School Nutrition Director.
- High School diploma or satisfactory completion of the GED Test
- Physically and mentally alert
- Ability to get along with people
- Ability to read, write, compute and communicate effectively
- Experience in food preparation is desirable
Routine physical activities associated with a typical office setting. Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Ability to lift 50 pounds with a partner using proper technique. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling and repetitive fine motor activities. Vision, hearing and verbal communications are essential functions of this position.
