Under the general supervision of the Director of Transportation.
Essential Functions- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Attends annual DOE School Bus Driver Safety meeting.
- Attends all school bus training programs and courses as prescribed by the State of Georgia or the Stephens County Board of Education.
- Maintains orderly conduct of student passengers, remain alert to students’ needs and interact appropriately.
- Assists with conducting emergency evacuation drills as directed by the Transportation Department.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with school staff and public.
- Completes required reports legibly and accurately in the prescribed manner and on a timely basis.
- Provides maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading/unloading, which could include evacuation of students from a bus in case of an emergency.
- Assists with medical procedures for students.
- Maintains a good working relationship with driver.
- Maintains proper storage of all student equipment.
- Works effectively and cooperatively with administrators, teachers and staff.
- Handles all duties in a timely and organized manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED.
Physical DemandsAbility to lift 50 pounds.
