Job Summary
The Department of Psychological Science at the University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full-time tenure‑track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (with benefits) for Fall 2026. Teaching responsibilities will be on the Gainesville campus. A specialty in cognitive neuroscience (or a closely related area) is required. Successful applicants will be able to teach courses in Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, and Biopsychology, as well as introductory courses in the science of psychology and upper‑division level courses in their area of expertise.
Responsibilities- Faculty typically teach 12 hours per semester (undergraduate), including a combination of service courses, upper‑level offerings (including lab‑based courses), and courses in their specialty area.
- Faculty in the Department of Psychological Science are expected to engage in professional development and scholarly pursuits and to involve undergraduate students in these endeavors.
- Faculty at UNG are expected to contribute to the department, university, and their profession through appropriate service obligations, including the advising of students.
- Holding office hours and attending departmental, college, and university‑level meetings.
- A doctorate in psychology is required; ABD will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with degrees in hand at the time of appointment.
- Specialization in the area of cognitive neuroscience or a closely related area is required.
