Academic Advisor

Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is hiring an Academic Advisor I to provide undergraduate advising for first-year engineering students.

The role involves proactive advising, collaboration with faculty and staff, engagement with students and families, participation in recruitment and orientation programs, and development of advising resources.

• Advise first-year engineering students to support retention and success.
• Collaborate with departmental advisors, first-year programs, and probation staff.
• Engage with students and families during Preview and orientation activities.
• Develop academic plans, coaching strategies, and resource referrals.
• Manage communication including phone, email, and information sessions.
• Work as part of a team within the Office of Undergraduate Student Affairs.
• Coordinate with UF partners, councils, and student organizations.
• Required qualifications:
  
  Master's degree in education, counseling, or related field, or a Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant experience.
• Preferred qualifications:
  
  Experience advising undergraduates, strong communication skills, knowledge of University of Florida regulations.
• Salary range: $47,000 to $50,000 based on education and experience.
