We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Coordinator of Recreational Sports for Outdoor Recreation to join our dynamic team and help bring engaging, educational outdoor experiences to life for students, faculty, and staff. This role will hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate a team of student staff, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment. The coordinator plays a key role in supporting the program’s vision and goals while ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and execution of outdoor programs, adventure trips, special events, and gear rentals, as well as maintaining compliance with policies and procedures related to facilities, risk management, and trip safety. The position also partners with campus and community groups to enhance programming, ideal for a highly organized leader passionate about outdoor recreation and student development.

Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Master’s Degree; two years of experience in outdoor recreation; understanding of outdoor recreation operations in a campus recreation setting; effective communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, to think laterally, to undertake initiatives, to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to supervise people; instructor trainings, and lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
- Background in Recreation, Outdoor Leadership, or related field.
- Wilderness First Responder certification.
