Salary:
Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience, with full benefits package.
Position: 12-month, non-tenure-accruing, instructional faculty position (100% teaching).
This position is 100% teaching in the Entomology and Nematology Department within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and IFAS at the University of Florida. The salary is competitive, initially funded for two years with a possible extension. A successful candidate with a Ph.D. may use the “Instructional Assistant Professor” working title.
Responsibilities- Teach two courses per semester, including summers, in instructor or lecturing role.
- Develop and deliver a mix of in‑person and online courses in insect pest biology, general entomology for non‑majors, and insect vectors of disease.
- Assist with development of new courses and adapt current courses to meet department needs.
- Participate in scholarly activities related to instruction, such as curriculum revision, supervising undergraduates, publishing teaching‑related scholarship, producing learning tools, and engaging in professional development in teaching and advising.
Required:
- M.S. degree (or foreign equivalent) in entomology, nematology, biology, or closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal relationships.
- Supportive of the Land‑Grant mission and committed to UF core values.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) in entomology, nematology, biology, or closely related discipline (preferred but not required for title).
- Experience with in‑person teaching, online teaching, and course development.
