The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida is soliciting applications for Visiting Assistant Instructional Professor positions. These will be full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track, time-limited faculty positions at the rank of Visiting Lecturer (working title Visiting Assistant Instructional Professor). These positions will begin Fall 2026.
Assigned areas will include but are not limited to:
- Engineering Education
- Chemical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Materials Science & Engineering
- Engineering Leadership
- Engineering Innovation
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as instructors of record for key undergraduate engineering courses with critical needs across the curriculum.
- Participate in the Department of Engineering Education’s training program for new PhD graduates and prospective faculty, including courses in engineering education, pedagogy, and available UF instructional training programs.
- Engage in mentoring undergraduate students in engineering and closely related fields.
- Attend and present at the UF CTE Interface Conference, sharing education‑supported impact on instructed courses.

Required Qualifications- Ph.D.
- Ph.D. in Engineering, a closely related field, or one of the assigned areas.
- Technical expertise in one or more of the assigned areas listed above.
- Demonstrated interest and experience working with and mentoring undergraduate students in engineering.
