Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
The Department of Environmental and Global Health in the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for up to four full-time, 12-month open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) faculty positions on either a tenure-track or non-tenure (research or teaching) track in any area aligned with the department's mission. We seek outstanding candidates whose research, teaching, and service programs address critical environmental, occupational, infectious disease, global health, One Health, or population health challenges and contribute to the advancement of public health locally, nationally, and globally.
The College of Public Health and Health Professions is one of 62 colleges and schools in the U.S. that have achieved accreditation as a school of public health from the Council on Education for Public Health. The college is ranked 9th in NIH funding among schools of public health at public universities in grants targeting issues of national and international significance.
The Department of Environmental and Global Health is one of 8 departments that make up the College which offers doctoral, masters, and undergraduate degree programs in Environmental Health and One Health. The Department focuses on innovative solutions to complex human and ecosystem health problems caused by the global intersection of humans, animals, and the environment. We serve as a hub for faculty and students dedicated to excellence in education, research, and practice in the environmental health sciences.
We welcome applications from candidates across a broad range of disciplines. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:
- Infectious diseases and emerging pathogens
- Environmental health sciences
- Toxicology and exposure sciences
- Climate and health
- One Health
- Global health
- Social and behavioral sciences
- Public health and economics
- Implementation science
- AI and public health
Successful tenure-track candidates and non-tenure track research candidates will be expected to develop and sustain an extramurally funded research program; successful tenure-track candidates and non-tenure track teaching candidates will contribute to teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, and participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities. Candidates will have opportunities to collaborate across the University of Florida, including with the Emerging Pathogens Institute, College of Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Institute on the Environment, Clinical and Translational Science Institute, UF Health, Cancer Center, and numerous interdisciplinary centers and institutes.
The position is supported by a competitive salary and start-up package commensurate with track, rank, and experience. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on qualifications and experience of the identified finalist(s).

Earned doctorate (PhD, DrPH, DVM, MD, or equivalent terminal degree) in public health or a related field by the start date of employment.
