Overview
The University of Florida is hiring an Academic Advisor II for the Plant Science Major (PLS). This role involves providing academic advising to undergraduate students, managing registration and degree tracking, marketing the PLS program, recruiting students, and supporting administrative tasks to ensure the success and growth of the program.
Responsibilities- Advise students on course selection, degree requirements, probation recovery, and post-graduate career plans
- Manage student registration, enrollment, petitions, and degree audits
- Recruit undergraduate students through events, presentations, and social media marketing
- Support program administration including coordinating course offerings and maintaining student data
- Assist with scholarship nominations, awards, and internship programs
- Collaborate with multiple Plant Science departments and statewide academic centers
- Required qualifications:
Master’s degree with one year experience or Bachelor’s degree with two years relevant experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel emphasized) and experience with learning management systems, preferably Canvas
- Preferred skills include program marketing, Salesforce systems, and excellent communication abilities
- Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 commensurate with education, skills, and experience
