Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Learning Center is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable educator to support our VPK classroom during the day and our After school Program in the afternoon. This role offers the opportunity to work with both preschool and school-age children while becoming part of a collaborative team dedicated to helping every child thrive.
At GEZFLC, we believe learning happens all day long, through exploration, play, relationships, and meaningful experiences. We are looking for someone who shares that belief and enjoys building connections with children of different ages while creating safe, engaging, and nurturing environments.
What You ll Do Morning – VPK Classroom- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Foster children s social-emotional growth and kindergarten readiness
- Assist with classroom routines, supervision, centers, and transitions
- Help create a positive, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Supervise and engage school-age children in a safe, structured environment
- Lead games, enrichment activities, outdoor play, and creative projects
- Encourage positive relationships, teamwork, and respectful behavior
- Support homework and academic enrichment as appropriate
- Experience working with young children in an early childhood or school-age setting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow
- Florida VPK Credential (or willingness to obtain one)
- DCF training completed or willingness to complete required coursework
- Experience supporting classroom quality, mentoring children, or leading engaging learning activities
