The Department of Chemical Engineering in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida is soliciting applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor) in Chemical Engineering.

The department offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate degree program and emphasizes instruction that connects engineering fundamentals with modern industrial practice, professional problem solving, and workplace readiness. Applicants from a broad range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including recent Ph.D. graduates interested in instructional careers, as well as experienced industry professionals seeking to transition into higher education.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate include teaching required and/or elective undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Chemical Engineering; developing instructional materials and course content; mentoring and advising students; participating in curriculum development and assessment activities; and collaborating with faculty and staff to strengthen the undergraduate and master's educational experience.

Expected Salary:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.

Preferred:
Demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; ability or potential to teach core Chemical Engineering courses; strong communication and interpersonal skills; an interest in connecting engineering fundamentals with modern industrial practice. Industry experience in areas relevant to Chemical Engineering (for example process operations, design, controls, safety) is highly valued. Experience with laboratory instruction, curriculum development, student advising, or educational innovation is also desirable.
