The Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Genetics. The Department is expanding faculty as part of a five-year strategic plan.

We seek outstanding investigators in genetics, including but not limited to gene expression and regulation, functional genomics, systems biology, developmental genetics, immunogenetics, molecular mechanisms of disease, evolutionary genetics, and related fields. Research programs span mammalian, Drosophila, viral, bacterial, cancer, and comparative genetics, focusing on gene discovery, genome editing, transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation, RNA biology, disease mechanisms, structural biology, protein biochemistry, multi-omics, and computational biology.

The department offers a collaborative environment and interactions across multiple colleges and centers that foster interdisciplinary research at UF.

Annual salary range: $110,000 to $130,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

• Research in the genetics of human disease, particularly microsatellite repeats.
