Hamilton School Faculty Positions

The Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education at the University of Florida invites applications for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions in American Government, History, Literature, and Law (AGHLL) to begin in August 2027. Hamilton seeks to fill several tenure-track and tenured faculty positions, starting in the 2027-28 academic year. Responsibilities include offering courses in Hamilton's AGHLL major, as well as ordinarily contributing to one of Hamilton's three other majors: (1) Great Books and Ideas;

(2) Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law; or (3) War, Statecraft and Strategy.

Applicants are welcome from all relevant disciplines, including but not limited to political science, jurisprudence, constitutional studies, history, literature, religion and art history. The search is open with regard to period, ranging from colonial to contemporary America. The search is open rank, with scholars at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level all encouraged to apply.

UF is the state's oldest, largest, and most comprehensive land grant university with an enrollment of over 50,000 students and was ranked the Number 1 public university in the United States by Wall Street Journal in its "2024 Best Colleges in the U.S." report. UF is located in Gainesville, a city of approximately 150,000 residents in North-Central Florida, 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and 67 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, and within a 2-hour drive to large metropolitan areas (Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville).

UF's large college sports programs, museums, and performing arts centers support a range of activities and cultural events for residents to enjoy. Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree.
