Job Description

The University of Florida TREEO Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as an Education/Training Specialist II. This position plays a key role in coordinating professional education and training programs, with primary responsibility for TREEO’s Solid Waste programs and support for Safety & Health programs. The Education/Training Specialist II will work closely with program staff, instructors, students, clients, and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality professional education programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating course schedules and logistics, communicating with students and clients, supporting course registration and materials, maintaining program records, assisting with course delivery and outreach, and providing administrative and technical support for learning and registration systems. Reporting to the Program Manager II, this position serves as the primary coordinator for assigned TREEO Center Solid Waste training programs while providing administrative and operational support for Health & Safety training programs. Responsibilities include course scheduling, student and client communication, course preparation, instructor support, training logistics, and program documentation. The position works closely with the Program Manager II and instructors to ensure timely and effective delivery of training programs and supports continuous improvement, student success, regulatory compliance, and program growth within assigned areas.

Functions Of The Job Program Coordination & Administration
  • Coordinates the day-to-day administration and delivery of assigned Solid Waste training programs, ensuring courses are prepared and delivered according to established procedures.
  • Provides administrative and operational support for Health & Safety training programs under the direction of the Program Manager II, including scheduling assistance, course preparation, student communications, and training logistics.
  • Coordinates Solid Waste course scheduling, instructors, facilities, equipment, course materials, and other logistics necessary for successful course delivery.
  • Assists the Program Manager II with Health & Safety course preparation, materials, classroom setup, evaluations, and other administrative needs.
  • Serves as a primary contact for routine student and client questions within assigned programs and coordinates with the Program Manager II when questions involve course content, customization, or subject-matter considerations.
  • Maintains course checklists, schedules, program records, and other documentation necessary for effective course administration.
  • Assists with proposals, creating budgets, and other documentation for contract and customized training opportunities.
Student & Client Services
  • Provides timely, professional responses to students and clients regarding registration, course requirements, schedules, and program logistics.
  • Coordinates with the Program Manager II and instructors regarding client requests involving course content, customization, instructional approach, or other subject-matter considerations.
  • Provides support to online students, including assistance with Canvas and other technology used to access and complete training.
