Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Department: Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Gainesville, FL
Reporting To: Sr. Director Operations and Engineering
DescriptionSupport the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for medical devices, focusing on quality, efficiency, and compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and improve existing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain machining processes, tooling, and documentation for parts produced.
- Develop and verify new technologies and tooling solutions. Support NX CAM programming initiatives to reduce machining errors.
- Maintain standardized CAM programming libraries and contribute to DNC system improvements.
- Assist in expanding lights-out operations and robotics integration.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering & Development teams to improve process quality and reduce cycle time.
- Support efforts to digitize and automate the shop floor through Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in design-for-manufacturability reviews and process validations.
- Create and maintain controlled documentation using Change Management Systems.
- Apply Quality System regulations and relevant standards in daily operations.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineer from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant experience
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Exposure to GMPs, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Systems Regulations.
Skills & Knowledge
- Familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter is a plus.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
- Experience with medical device materials such as titanium, cobalt chrome, stainless steel, and UHMWPE.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
