What we are looking for…

eda consultants inc. is seeking a Professional Surveyor & Mapper
. The person in this role will be responsible for survey projects from beginning to end and expected to positively contribute to the survey department’s and eda ’s quality standards, project budgets and project timelines.

Position Summary

As a Professional Surveyor, the ideal candidate would have experience and excel at the preparation of surveying proposals & developing scopes, the successful production of survey products, the supervision of CAD Techs and Field Personnel, performing CAD duties, performing field duties, quality control, and client communication. You would be expected to be successful on many different projects while providing multiple survey products, such as Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Subdivision Plats, As-Built Surveys, and Construction Staking.

FDOT experience is a plus.

Typical duties include:
  • Production of survey products such as boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, subdivision plats, as-built surveys, legal descriptions & sketches, elevation certificates, and construction staking.
  • Preparation of proposals and project budgets
  • Supervise CAD Techs and Field Personnel
  • Process, interpret and analyze collected field data
  • Perform CAD and field duties as required to meet project deadlines
  • Maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence relative to survey work
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Surveying to ensure maintenance and repair of survey vehicles, survey equipment and survey instruments
  • Perform quality control and review on survey projects under your control
  • Sign and seal survey drawings
  • Responsible for the organization of job files, field notes, reports, and other survey files in regards to projects under your control
  • Positively contribute to the survey department’s and eda
    ’s quality standards, project budgets and project timelines.
Qualifications
  • Registered land surveying license in the State of Florida
  • Must be responsible, highly motivated and detail oriented
  • Thorough knowledge of survey instruments and equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain favorable public relations
  • Problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all field techniques
  • Out-of-town work is infrequent, but is possible with this position
  • Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Must pass initial and periodic drug screenings
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
