Job Summary
Quality Labor Management is seeking an intermediate-level technician to support a state transportation materials program within a highway materials testing and pavement evaluation operation. This role involves statewide field testing, data collection and analysis, and producing detailed engineering reports on roadway condition and performance. This position works with the Pavement Section and requires extensive driving and occasional overnight travel. This is a field-based role.
Work is performed on-site and on the road; remote work is not available

General Responsibilities- Independently operate pavement testing equipment on a statewide basis and perform advanced field evaluations on state and public roadway systems to assess structural condition, performance, and serviceability
- Schedule and coordinate field operations and activities (including maintenance of traffic) with District offices, consultants, and other stakeholders
- Perform data processing using appropriate software, including storage and analysis, and prepare detailed engineering reports on findings
- Ensure the testing vehicle and related equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and functional; ensure work is timely planned, documented, and filed
- Independently perform pavement materials data collection, processing, and reporting
- Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of testing data
- Perform data entry and quality review of testing results and supporting documentation
- Operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties
- Ensure testing equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functional at all times
- Troubleshoot equipment issues in the field (basic mechanical troubleshooting)
- Multi-task and work effectively with others or independently to meet common goals
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as required
- Perform extensive driving and overnight travel away from the office as needed
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for work duties
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable, and highly motivated with strong attention to detail
- Experience with data entry and quality review
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Technical writing skills (ability to support clear, detailed reporting)
- Basic mechanical/troubleshooting skills to address equipment issues in the field
- Prior experience in field data collection, materials testing, or pavement-related work (helpful but not required)
