Technical Artist

Overview

Grove Street Games is seeking a full-time, experienced technical artist to join our team where you will focus on creating realistic and engaging environments and effects in Unreal Engine 5 on a daily basis. We are looking for a motivated, well-organized person who can work well on individual and team-oriented tasks with a passion for 3D game art. The successful candidate needs to love problem solving and be able to bridge the gap between traditional art and programming.

• Strong artistic background and content development skills (can be texturing, modelling, VFX)
• Work closely with engineers to make high quality game visuals in Unreal Engine
• Integrate new technologies
• Assist in asset performance monitoring
• Continually assess reported bugs and monitor for recurring issues that can be solved with a technical approach
• Participate and contribute creatively in team discussions, critiques, and game development ideas

• At least 2+ years working professionally in Unreal Engine
• Expert level use of a 3D tool such as Maya, Houdini, Blender or the like
• Proficiency in Niagara and UE Blueprints
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently and own your work
• Ability to work well with teammates
• Detail-oriented & extremely well-organized
• Relocate to Gainesville– this job is not remote

• Experience with other scripting languages
• Strong understanding of the UE5 art pipeline
• Passion and knowledge of video games
• Creative problem-solving skills
