OPS External Events Operations Team

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for OPS External Events Operation Team members that will assist the external events staff with the set-up and breakdown of all University Athletic Association events. Those duties include but are not limited to, parking assistance, gate attendants, and guest check-in. Such duties might require moving large objects such as furniture, tables, chairs, stages and podiums.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
• High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
• The ability to stand for long periods of time and regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds is required
• Working a non-standard work week which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work independently during event sets and possess strong attention to detail
• The ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous event set-up experience is preferred
• A positive attitude and an outgoing personality is a plus

BENEFITS:

This is a part-time position with no associated benefits.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Interviews may be conducted prior to the closing date, but no offer of employment will be extended until after the position closes. Once an official offer is extended and accepted, the candidate will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and may be contingent on satisfactory background screening results. The candidate will also be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
