Overview
Work Location:
Onsite - UF Health Professional Park - Gainesville
Development, maintenance and implementation of budgeting, reporting, benchmarking and/or cost accounting systems. Compiling and presenting statistical and financial information and providing analytical and financial support to management.
Key Responsibilities Include:Development, maintenance, and implementation of budgeting, reporting, benchmarking, and cost accounting systems.
Serving as a subject matter expert on financial systems, ensuring optimal functionality and value to the hospital.
Ensuring financial data is accurate, complete, and submitted in advance of deadlines.
Partnering with department managers to validate and update financial and operational information.
Recommending and implementing enhancements to financial reports and systems to support evolving organizational needs.
Managing system upgrades, including coordination, testing, and implementation.
Preparing routine and ad hoc financial and statistical reports.
Analyzing financial results, identifying significant variances, and providing clear explanations and recommendations.
Collaborating with Senior Analysts on budgets, payroll review, benchmarking studies, financial reporting, and cost accounting initiatives.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Ability to work closely with managers to communicate financial findings and respond to questions clearly and effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.
Ability to evaluate user requests, determine appropriate courses of action, and investigate potential solutions.
Capable of questioning assumptions and identifying root causes.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software.
Strong knowledge of data manipulation (sorting, filtering, formatting, cut/copy/paste).
Experience with advanced formulas and functions (e.g., SUMIF, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
Ability to create and interpret graphs and data visualizations.
Experience with financial system maintenance and upgrades.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word or other word processing software, including document formatting, tables, bullets, and numbering.
General understanding of financial statements, including Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
Working knowledge of PFM/People Soft or similar healthcare general ledger systems.
Familiarity with cost accounting methodologies.
3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, benchmarking, cost accounting, and/or financial system maintenance.
3–5 years of experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
