Classification Minimum Requirements
- Level I:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or equivalent combination of education and experience in research administration. - Level II:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in sponsored program administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Level III:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of experience in sponsored program administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level I:
Entry‑level position within UF’s Division of Sponsored Programs. Responsible for learning and facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities. Works on routine tasks with limited judgment and decision making. - Level II:
Experienced‑level position. Responsible for facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities. Applies theory to practice, possesses broad job knowledge, and analyzes diverse problems to determine solutions. - Level III:
Experienced‑level position responsible for facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities, including managing the most highly complex pre‑award and non‑financial post‑award transactions. Applies theory and has an in‑depth understanding of the professional field, broad job knowledge, and determines solutions for diverse issues.
Commensurate with Education and Experience
Required Qualifications- Level I:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in research administration. - Level II:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in sponsored program administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Level III:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of experience in sponsored program administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level I:
Facility to learn electronic research administration software. Ability to provide excellent customer service; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and with others; ability to search and apply policy; negotiation skills; maintain positive relationships; effective use of electronic applications;
Microsoft Office;
People Soft grants; experience at the University of Florida; strong problem‑solver. - Level II:
At least three years of sponsors administration experience; knowledge of federal policies, Uniform Guidance, Acquisition Regulations, CFR, NIH and NSF policy, and University of Florida regulations. Ability to provide excellent customer service, effective communication, critical thinking, judgment, maintain working relationships, interface with electronic business applications, and use Windows, Word, Access, Excel, UFIRST, and myUFL Grants. - Level III:
At least three years of sponsored research administration experience; knowledge of 2 CFR 200, FAR, CFR, NIH Grants Policy Statement, NSF Grants Policy Manual, and state regulations. Ability to provide excellent customer service, effective communication, critical thinking, judgment, maintain working relationships, interface with electronic business applications, and use enterprise applications and computing tools.
This is not a remote work position and is located on the University of Florida's Main Campus in Gainesville, Florida.
