Job DescriptionThe UF Health Cancer Institute is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span all of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.
As a Clinical Research Assistant at the UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI), you will be responsible for collaborating with study coordinators and research staff, investigators, physicians, nurses, and other key personnel in the clinics, hospitals, and at the Cancer Institute to ensure compliance with protocol requirements and satisfactory care for patients enrolled on research protocols.
Responsibilities- Transcribing protocol-required clinical data from medical records into case report forms, OnCore/Epic in accordance with protocol requirements and timelines.
- Coordinating research sample collection and ensuring proper labeling, processing, storage, and shipping in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
- Facilitating regulatory compliance by assisting with audits, submitting required documents to the IRB, and tracking study approvals and subject data in the Clinical Trials Management System.
- Supporting the coordination of clinical trial participants, including preparing study materials, attending research meetings, and ensuring protocol-specific tests and procedures are completed.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing and/or Basic Sciences
- One year of relevant experience or training in research and/or oncology
- Experience working with databases and/or patient data
- Familiarity with laboratory processes, including the collection, processing, storage, and shipment of human samples
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Demonstrated ability to manage data accurately and maintain compliance with research protocols
- Effective writing, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience supporting clinical research and/or oncology-related programs (preferred)
- Resourceful team player who can also work independently with professionalism and discretion
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to navigate complex situations collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while interacting professionally with diverse stakeholders
