American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiac ICU night shift position requiring prior open heart PCICU skills and Epic experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) and Pediatric ICU within a hospital setting,

• Care for a diverse, complex pediatric acute care patient population including open heart cases,

• Assignment is in a Level 1 Trauma and teaching facility,

• 12-hour night shifts, variable days, 36 hours per week,

• Holidays and weekends are required,

• Floating to other units is required, with travelers floating before staff RNs,

• Epic EMR is used and recent experience is required,

• 13-week contract assignment,

• 50 mile radius rule applies,

Job Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license at time of consideration,

• At least 3 years of Level 2 or 3 PCICU (open heart PICU) RN experience required,

• Prior travel nursing experience required,

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at time of consideration,

• Recent Epic EMR experience required,

• Successful completion of a specialty skills and EKG exam with a minimum score of 80%, and 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification,

• Work history should not have gaps over 30 days without explanation,

• Minimum of one professional reference from the past 12 months required,

• Proof of current influenza vaccine or qualified medical exemption required prior to start,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing advanced care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in both PCICU and PICU settings,

• Assigned to an academic medical center with a wide range of pediatric specialties and support staff,

• All new RN starts must pass specialty and EKG tests during orientation, with remedial training available if needed,

• No time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum 6 days approved time off for a 13 week contract,

• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided during assignment onboarding,

• Unit manager interviews will be conducted as part of the hiring process,
