Position: (Part-Time with PRN) Cardiac Stress Tech – Paramedic – Gainesville, FL | HeartCare Imaging
  • Performs nuclear exercise and pharmacologic testing/stress studies
  • Performs routine treadmill stress tests
  • Performs treadmill stress echocardiogram tests
  • Prepares patient for testing
  • Provides care to cardiac patients in an ambulatory setting
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs exercise testing under the supervision of a physician.
  • Takes and records blood pressure as required and assists in monitoring patient condition during procedure.
  • Responsible for monitoring patient post nuclear stress test.
  • Prepares patient for testing, explains procedures, obtains patient history and consents.
  • Starts IVs, 12 lead EKG placement.
  • A clinical knowledge of ECG to be able to supervise stress testing and interpret results for the physician to approve procedure.
  • Will provide clinical nursing assessment, act as patient care advocate, and provide support, counseling, and education to patients.
  • Will be responsible for patient case management and/or performs specialized procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly functioning department. Orders, maintains and verifies appropriate supplies.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the nuclear or cardiovascular department. Is prepared for medical emergencies, maintaining proper medications and emergency supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of paramedic program
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required; ACLS certified;
    Proficient in reading ECG
  • Job Knowledge: Ability to interpret ECG;
    Proves knowledge of all quality control procedures performed in the laboratory
  • Licensure: Current National Paramedic Certification through National Registered Paramedics – National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians or equivalent
