Ophthalmic Technician

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician based in Gainesville, FL. The Ophthalmic Technician will assist with patient care by performing preliminary eye examinations, recording patient histories, and conducting diagnostic tests such as fundus photography. Responsibilities include acting as a scribe during consultations, preparing patients for eye procedures, and collaborating with ophthalmologists and other medical staff to ensure quality care.

• Proficiency in Optometry and Ophthalmology practices
• Experience with Scribing and accurate patient recordkeeping
• Competency in Fundus Photography and related diagnostic procedures
• Knowledge of medical terminology and practices in the field of Medicine
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide outstanding patient interaction
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Previous experience in an ophthalmic or optometry setting is a plus
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred but not required
