Position: Firefighter/Paramedic (2026)

Overview

The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department seeks qualified candidates for Firefighter/Paramedic. The department is ISO Class 1 and commits to providing professional service to citizens, businesses, and visitors through emergency medical services, fire suppression, risk reduction, public education, and community partnerships.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include performing duties as a Firefighter/Paramedic and participating in related selection and testing processes as described in the official class specifications and job postings.

Qualifications

The following are required or needed to apply:

  • Certified Firefighter/Paramedic or Fourth (4th) semester paramedic eligible to apply, with State of Florida Paramedic certification by July 17, 2026.
  • State of Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance (must be obtained by July 17, 2026) or current school listing with projected graduation date from the program.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
  • CPAT (National) or EPAT or CSRIPS certificate within the previous 12 months; CPAT/EPAT certificates must be valid between April 30, 2025 and April 30, 2026. If CPAT is not yet available, contact Palm Beach State College for next CPAT; provide appointment information to Alyssa Steckler if scheduled after application submission.
  • State of Florida Paramedic License or a letter from current school noting 4th semester paramedic status with projected graduation date.
  • Valid Driver's License.
