Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time weekend veterinary technician who will primarily be responsible for taking radiographs and assisting in our emergency room. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about animal care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality radiographs with precision and care.
- Assist veterinarians and other technicians in the ER with various procedures.
- Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after radiographic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all radiographic equipment is in good working order.
- Provide compassionate care and support to our patients and their owners.
- Triage and obtain patient history
- Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring
- Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in taking radiographs.
- Experience in an emergency veterinary setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations with poise.
- Self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without the need for constant direction

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE
Typical schedule will be Saturday and Sunday from 10am- 8:30pm with a 30 minute lunch
This individual is considered essential personnel which may include reporting to work during Main Campus closures
Non-credentialed technician $18-22, Credentialed Technician $20-25
Preferred:
- Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR American Registered Radiologic Technologist.
- Credentialed veterinary Technician OR
- Registered Radiological Technologist
