Occupational Therapist Position

UF Health Shands Outpatient Rehab Services is dedicated to providing excellent patient care to individuals throughout north central Florida. Through comprehensive rehabilitation programs, we hope to create a safe and comfortable environment that empowers individuals to manage their care independently, return to a functional lifestyle and improve their quality of life. We are dedicated to treating our patients with compassion, creativity, respect and confidentiality.

Our rehab centers accomplish this with close working relationships between our referring physicians, therapists, support staff, University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions and the University of Florida Athletics Program. Our therapists provide rehabilitation services and education to patients. We offer continuing education, journal clubs, staff mentoring and the ability to be involved with student clinical education and our UF Health accredited residency programs in Sports and Orthopedics.

The UF Health Rehab Center – Medical Plaza is a multidisciplinary center providing occupational, physical and massage therapy services, specializing in oncology, lymphedema and cardiopulmonary conditions. We also provide services for the general orthopedic and rheumatologic conditions. We are integrated with specialty physician clinics and ancillary services to provide comprehensive care. Our therapists provide an interdisciplinary approach and collaborate in research and education leading to improved care and quality of life for all of the patients being seen.

Responsibilities:

In this role, the Occupational Therapist provides therapy services and education to patients. In addition, will contribute to the education and professional development of other healthcare providers and students in the field of rehabilitation.

Monday-Friday; TBD

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a Rehab Therapy
  • No previous clinical experience necessary
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services and settings
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Florida

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position:
Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'

NOTE:

A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
