Responsibilities

In this role the Lab PAA/Phlebotomist Lead will perform the following job duties:

  • Oversee clerical/LPAA operations, including clerical support of laboratory operations, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, etc.
  • Evaluate and train phlebotomy staff
Laboratory Duties And Responsibilities (as Applicable)
  • Perform routine Laboratory clerical procedures
  • Collect patient specimens; accessions and distributes specimens and/or blood products
  • Prepare specimens for analysis
  • Prepare blood products for patient and of blood products

Qualifications
  • High school graduate
  • 6 months previous laboratory experience clinical or hospital based is required
  • Completion of phlebotomy training program (240 hours) preferred
  • Experience in a Leadership position, preferred
Licensure/Certification /Registration

Must possess or be eligible for national certification in phlebotomist

Certification in CPR is required

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position:
Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'

NOTE:

A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
