Director, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

• Assume leadership in organizing, administering, reviewing, developing, and assuring DMS program effectiveness.
• Evaluate DMSprogram goals, objectives, and educational outcomes for purposes of program operation and evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) standards for accreditation; leadthefaculty team in efforts tomaintainprogramaccreditation.
• Prepare and manage the program budget, requesting and maintaining supplies and equipment needed for instruction.
• Prepare internal and external documentation and administrativereports.
• Ensure that current agreements with area health care facilities are in place to provide appropriate clinical learning sites for the DMS program.
• Ensure that all students are in compliance with clinical health and safety requirements (immunizations, CPR, etc.).
• Make recommendations and take appropriate action regardingDMSfaculty/staff appointments, assignments, supervision, evaluation, and professional development activities.
• Coordinate instructional activities (theoryand clinical) within the program and between other programs and departments of the college.
• Supervise and assist with the admissions process and in recruiting, advising, and assisting students applying to and enrolled in theDMSprogram.
• Serve as liaison with local
  
  Diagnostic Medical Sonography professionals and the community on all matters pertaining to the DMS program.
• Schedule DMSAdvisory Committee meetings, prepare program reports forcommitteemembers, and work with members to maintain currency and relevance in the DMS program.
• Provide excellence in classroom,laboratory, and/or clinicalinstructionin theDMSprogram.
• Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Serve on college work groups as assigned and support other college initiatives.
• Complete mandatory compliance training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree in health science or education related field.
• Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certifications as a Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Two years of work experience in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography field.
• Three years of teaching experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication.
• Demonstrated commitment to community involvement.
