UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level Windows Site Reliability Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team within UFIT.
Competitive candidates will be self‑motivated, organized, eager to learn, and willing to share extensive experience with fellow team members. Outstanding communication skills are a must. The role involves leading small and medium projects, initiating new projects that fit the organization’s needs, and coordinating teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration, and deployment of enterprise‑wide infrastructure and software systems.
Responsibilities- Windows administration of enterprise applications
- Provide input, advice, and recommendations on enterprise system administration and management technologies
- Assist with architectural decisions across projects and initiatives and promote best practices
- Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Git Lab CI/CD, etc.
- Participate in post‑incident reviews
- Large‑scale Windows administration
- Participate in designing system architecture and implementation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and two years of relevant experience; or high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
- Installation and management of enterprise application infrastructure in large‑scale environments using on‑premises and cloud deployments of Windows Server
- Intermediate knowledge and prior use of automation, scripting, and configuration management systems such as Terraform, Ansible, Git Lab CI/CD, Vault, Docker, Power Shell, Python, and Go
- Load balancer policies and virtual server load balancing
- Administration of IIS in clustered and non‑clustered configurations
- Experience with large‑scale Windows Server OS management, including in‑depth troubleshooting
- Monitoring systems such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Splunk, Loki, Prometheus, Mimir
- Some familiarity with APIs (SOAP, REST, etc.)
- Some familiarity with at least one hypervisor platform (preferred: VMWare)

- This is an on‑site position in Gainesville, FL (no remote work)
- A Level 2 criminal background screening is required
$82,000 to $92,000, commensurate with education and experience.
