Job Description
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level Learning Tools Developer to join Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT.
This role is pivotal in developing and implementing functional software solutions that enhance teaching and learning experiences, focusing on AI, Navi Gator AI Suite (UF AI platform), and other emerging technologies to support student success.
Responsibilities- Work alongside faculty and stakeholders to create innovative educational technology solutions, utilizing AI to foster adaptive learning environments and personalized learning experiences. Ensure all applications adhere to industry standards and frameworks.
- Engage with educators to understand needs and translate them into effective software solutions. Stay abreast of the latest trends in educational technology and advocate for new initiatives.
- Collaborate with other developers, UX/UI designers, infrastructure, operations, and UFIT teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable, and effective educational tools that meet industry standards.
Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high‑school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate.
Preferred- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, JSON, HTML, CSS, FastAPI, and RESTful API. Familiarity with Git Hub, Bit Bucket, and managing large datasets. Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, SQL, Pandas, and Num Py is advantageous.
- Experience with LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience deploying services in cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and utilizing their AI services.
- Ability to work successfully with faculty members, instructors, and other design team members in higher education.
- Awareness of ethical issues in AI, such as data privacy and security.
