Asset Specialist I Rover OPS

Classification

Minimum Requirements:

The person in this position must be physically able to lift/move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and must be able to work in extreme temperatures in a warehouse environment. This position requires a valid Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities
  • Sorting and Recycling:
    Separate items and sort through boxes that come into UF Surplus to place items in proper locations. Items not sustainable will be palletized and sent to the E-Waste Recycler.
  • Online Auction Sales:
    Place surplus property on internet auctions that includes photographing items and listing items for sale both electronic items and furniture items on auction sites with detail write-ups.
  • Testing:
    In the PC Shop/AV Shops, an electronic diagnostic facility for UF Surplus, evaluate, troubleshoot, clean (includes data wiping hard drives), repair, configure, optimize, upgrade, and renovate various equipment using tools and multiple software diagnostics.
  • Hard Drive Processing:
    Remove hard drives from equipment brought into the warehouse, wipe, grade or crush them.
  • Assists customers in the Lobby Area with auction sales and departmental transfers.
Compensation

Expected Salary: $15/hour

Preferred Qualifications

This individual is preferred to have a knowledge of IT equipment, ability to lift heavy objects when needed, and excellent communication skills. Ability to organize and coordinate work activities; to follow written and verbal instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others; and to project a positive and professional attitude with others.
