Risk Manager/Analyst, Emergency Crisis Mgmt / Disaster Relief
Policy & Insurance Program Administration
Manage all aspects of the UF Policy Management Program with Florida Department of Risk Management (DRM) insurance. Prepare accurate premium billing statements and internal UF statements. Training University-wide departments on available insurance coverages, risk, and liability topics. Assist departments in securing insurance coverage outside of Florida DRM when requested. Help manage the Property Assessment (Statement of Values) program.
Promptly evaluate and investigate liability and property damage incidents. Collect and review necessary documents and forms from claimants and employees to ensure comprehensive assessment and resolution. Assist with any mediation or litigation processes as needed.
Disaster Claims CoordinationServe as a point of contact for coordinating with Emergency Management and other departments on public assistance grant preparation and disaster claims with FEMA and the State of Florida.
Certificate of Coverage (COI) & Event RiskEnsure compliance with UF event insurance requirements of UF departments and other parties holding events on campus. Manage COI requests and training university partners on managing event risk.
Operate UF/state vehicles to satellite locations to perform risk management responsibilities.
Business Continuity & Other DutiesValid Florida driver license; and 4-40 Customer Service Representative License or the ability to obtain license within first 6 months of employment.
Normal Work Schedule- Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Travel to and from offices around campus
- Occasional travel to offsite meetings
Expected Salary:$50,000 to $58,000 per year, Commensurate with Education & Experience
Required QualificationsMaster's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience.
Preferred:EDUCATION & TRAINING
Master’s degree in Risk Management or similar field
4-40 Customer Service Representative and/or
2-20 All Lines Agency License
FEMA Public Assistance experience
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation
EXPERIENCE- Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience preferred
- Knowledgeable of insurance fundamentals, including risk assessment and policy structures for
various commercial lines (e.g., property, liability and Inland Marine).

- People Soft
- Share Point
- Other risk management software.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to provide professional customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing)
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
- Ability to fully, logically, and concisely explain insurance related issues.
