Overview

The Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel, First DCA Region is seeking a full-time attorney in our Gainesville, FL office who will be responsible for a criminal case load in the Eighth Judicial Circuit. The position title is CRIMINAL CONFLICT AND CIVIL REGIONAL COUNSEL, 1ST REGION- ASSISTANT REGIONAL COUNSEL - .

• Represent clients in various types of court hearings, including jury trials, non-jury trials, and motion practice.
• Conduct client interviews and witness interviews; prepare witnesses for trial.
• Perform legal research and draft legal documents and filings.
• Provide ongoing assessment of the merits of a case and manage cases on multiple dockets.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Criminal Defense.
• Must be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• Ability to cover cases on multiple dockets; capability to handle a full-time caseload in a state position.

The position is a full-time State of Florida position with attendant state benefits with a salary range commensurate with the successful applicant's experience.
