Store Manager - Rent Pro Equipment (Sales)
Primary RoleThe General Manager leads the rental store and assigned territory by driving sales growth, operational excellence, and profitability. This role is accountable for branch‑level P&L performance, ensuring alignment with company strategy while building a high‑performance culture centered on safety, revenue and operational accountability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Leadership & Market Growth
- Lead, coach, and develop sales teams to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and expansion strategies to maximize long‑term growth.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to execute sales strategies and competitive positioning.
- Set clear sales goals, track performance, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Actively participate in key customer relationships and major contract negotiations.
- Operational Leadership & Excellence
- Oversee daily branch operations with a focus on efficiency, fleet utilization, service quality, and safety.
- Partner with the VP of Operations to improve processes, productivity, and cost management.
- Ensure equipment availability, readiness, and delivery meet customer expectations.
- Champion compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and operational best practices.
- Conduct quarterly operational and market reviews to maintain competitiveness.
- Financial Performance
- Hold full P&L responsibility for branch performance.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, pricing, and expense control measures.
- Drive profitability through disciplined revenue growth and cost optimization.
- Oversee accounts receivable and collections to protect company assets and cash flow.
- People & Culture
- Hire, train, and retain high‑performing sales, service, and operations staff.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, professional development, and high performance.
- Provide coaching and leadership to motivate employees to exceed expectations.
- Create and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring all staff follow best practices and compliance standards.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the President, VP of Sales, and VP of Operations to align on strategy and execution.
- Act as the link between local branch operations and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with other GMs to share best practices and enhance overall organizational performance.
- Total branch revenue and profitability aligned with P&L goals.
- Sales team performance: revenue growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
- Operational efficiency: fleet utilization, service, logistics, and compliance.
- Employee engagement and development: staff retention and performance.
- Safety compliance: zero preventable safety incidents.
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of leadership experience in equipment rental, sales, or operations with proven P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated success in leading sales teams and delivering sustained revenue growth.
- Strong operational management and financial acumen.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Energetic, adaptable, and result‑driven leader with the ability to thrive in competitive markets.
- Commitment to building and maintaining a safety‑first culture.
