Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for the oversight, and administration of building maintenance, renovations, construction, security, communications, property and space management, and emergency preparedness for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). This position serves as the primary liaison between the college and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and aligned with the college's operational and strategic goals.
The Assistant Director leads the development and implementation of policies, project management systems, and compliance initiatives to maintain and improve facilities across the college.
Strategic Facilities Management
* Direct construction and renovation projects (up to $200,000) and collaborate with UF Planning, Design, and Construction on larger projects.
* Develop long-term facilities plans aligned with strategic priorities.
* Lead a project management system for construction, renovations, and maintenance tracking.
Facilities Oversight and Operations
* Supervise day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and preventative improvements.
* Coordinate furniture and space enhancements.
* Ensure Environmental Health & Safety compliance.
Security and Emergency Preparedness
* Manage key distribution and building access control.
* Develop and lead emergency response strategies and continuity of operations plans.
* Serve as the College's Building Emergency Coordinator.
Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration
* Liaise with departments, contractors, and university offices to align facility operations with stakeholder needs.
* Support the Associate Dean in balancing priorities across departments.
Expected Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.
A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred:
* Master's degree with four years of progressive experience in facilities operations, project management, or related fields.
* Expertise in project management systems, building codes, and compliance with environmental regulations.
* Proven track record in budget and contract management.
* Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
