The Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine seeks an enthusiastic and qualified applicant for the MGR, Healthcare Administration position. The manager serves as a senior member of the division’s administrative leadership team, exercising independent judgment in managing programs, resources, and personnel. Primary responsibilities include completing administrative tasks across the tri-partisan mission, such as clinical trials budget negotiations and invoicing, faculty compensation plan analysis & ad hoc reporting, budgetary preparation, variance reporting, clinical operations, and human resource assignments.
The role requires the ability to interpret and apply accounting principles to transactions, work accurately with numerical detail, and analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data. Additionally, the manager oversees day-to-day operations of the Infectious Diseases Administrative Office and serves as a liaison for all faculty and staff, reporting directly to the Assistant Director.
We seek a professional, responsible individual who can work autonomously, set priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment in diverse situations. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, exceptional communication, and a desire to create a welcoming environment are key attributes for success. This role has significant input into the formulation of divisional policies and procedures based on a demonstrated understanding of the division’s functions and roles.
ClinicalTrials Research Administration
The manager will provide leadership, oversight, and direct management of clinical trials administrative activities, including clinical trial negotiations, regular invoicing, and ad hoc analysis in support of clinical trials research faculty and team. With the support of the Division Administrator, the manager will lead the division in advancing its clinical trials research mission.
Project Management- Clinical Operations
The manager will lead complex clinical operational initiatives and process improvement efforts for the division, ensuring alignment with divisional strategic priorities and regularly assessing outcomes, presenting these initiatives to faculty and leadership. The manager will function as a project manager for defined clinical initiatives or root causes analysis investigations, coordinating with various stakeholders, performing data analysis, and managing timelines/deadlines. The incumbent will also manage the Divisional clinical software scheduling system that impacts the division’s clinical mission.
Budgetingand Variance Reporting
The incumbent will support the Assistant Director with budget preparation and the creation of associated financial reports for divisional or administrative units. Responsibilities include accurate reporting and monitoring of physician productivity, completing sections for the annual budget, monthly variance reports, and monthly RVU forecasting tools.
General Administration- Human Resources
The position assists the Assistant Director with all HR tasks, including processing Faculty/TEAMS/OPS hires, effort reporting, advising staff on onboarding procedures, completing evaluations, performance metrics/action plans, and scheduling for direct reports.
Other DutiesPrioritize assignments based on urgency or deadlines and work cooperatively with others in the Department to ensure all assignments are completed timely and meet or exceed quality and performance standards. Other duties as assigned. The manager will also serve as the backup for the Division Administrator when they are out of the office.
