Continuous Improvement Engineer

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will coordinate processes and lead execution of continuous improvement strategies at PPG’s Gainesville, TX Plant. You will report to the Plant Manager.

• Assess and deploy CI development plans and set goals responsibilities.
• Define, maintain, and align KPI targets with site business strategy.
• Work with leaders, engineers, and operators to coach and mentor CI methodologies; ensure instruction and use of key best practices such as LSS, kaizen, DMAIC, GB/YB, 5S, and value stream mapping.
• Conduct LSS assessments, define action plans to close gaps, and track execution across departments.
• Work with operators to ensure they are appropriately trained.
• Aid operators to drive improvement in manufacturing efficiencies using best‑practice CI tools and techniques.
• Align with Quality Assurance to deliver robust and cost‑effective end‑to‑end processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another suitable technical field;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years proven experience with LSS/Continuous Improvement in a chemical, food, or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• Black Belt certification preferred.
