Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Safely and efficiently supports North American Utility Vehicle Engineering Department activities in the United States including the transport of machines between sites, performing machine maintenance, as well as assisting with testing, assembly, disassembly and inspection of test machines.
Duties and responsibilities- Utilizes extensive knowledge of Kubota products to support North American Utility Vehicle Engineering Department in the transport of machines and in performing ongoing machine maintenance.
- Assists Engineers as needed with testing, assembly, disassembly and inspection of test
- Reads engineering prints (tolerances, welding annotations) to perform assembly, disassembly and moderate to advanced fabrication.
- Safely and efficiently fabricates parts as required including cutting, drilling, welding, forming and machining processes.
- Perform test field maintenance, can include skid-steer operation, tractor operation, grass mowing, etc.
- Understands, complies and leads others in support of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

- The team member must also be able to work extended and flexible work hours in order to interface with workers on all shifts as well as international business units and must be physically able to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 10% of travel)
- High School Diploma and/or
- English language competency including demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no
- Eligible to drive NAUV Truck and Trailer (KMA Driver’s List plus must maintain a valid DOT License)
- Able to read and understand engineering
- Able to perform basic fabrication (cutting, grinding, drilling, )

- Experience with the test, evaluation, and inspection process of utility
- Experience/familiarity with shop tools and equipment including:
- Vertical mill
- Lathe
- Welding equipment (MIG, TIG) Sheet metal tools
- Powered and non-powered hand tools
- Water jet (computer controlled cutting table)
- Material handling equipment (overhead crane, forklift, )
- Experience and success working with cross-cultural work
- Experience with lab test equipment including:
- Vehicle dynamo meters
- Cycle test fixtures
- Environment chambers
- PLC controls
- Experience assembling or performing mechanical work on Utility
Ability to work in extreme heat and cold. Ability to work in a loud environment. Ability to work both inside in an office area and outside in a test field. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (Up to 10% of travel).
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member must have the ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions, stand for the duration of the shift, uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; ascend stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. In addition, the team member must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
