ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments based on the production schedule and direction from the Production Supervisor.
Provide day-to-day direction and support to employees within Trim, CNC, Boots, and other assigned Secondary Operations areas.
Train new and existing employees on proper work methods, quality requirements, safety procedures, equipment operation, and department expectations.
Monitor workflow, cycle times, productivity, and staffing throughout the shift and communicate concerns to the Production Supervisor.
Perform trimming, mending, flaming, palletizing, deflashing, routing, inspection, and other secondary operations as responsible for completing and coordinating required bandsaw cuts to support production needs and ensure parts are cut accurately, safely, and according to specifications.
Verify bandsaw cuts meet required measurements and quality standards before parts move to the next stage of production.
Operate CNC machines, bandsaws, and other approved equipment according to established procedures and safety requirements.
Inspect parts and help ensure finished products meet customer and company quality requirements.
Identify defective or nonconforming parts and ensure quality concerns are properly communicated and addressed.
Ensure employees follow established work instructions, processes, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
Assist with troubleshooting minor production, quality, process, material, or equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
Communicate shift priorities, production status, delays, staffing concerns, and other important information to the Production Supervisor.
Promote teamwork, accountability, respectful communication, and a positive working environment.
Lead by example by maintaining strong attendance, productivity, quality, safety, and professional conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES The Trim/CNC/Boots Lead provides daily work direction and training but does not independently make final decisions regarding hiring, termination, disciplinary action, compensation, or other employment matters. Employee performance, attendance, conduct, or safety concerns should be documented and promptly communicated to the Production Supervisor and/or Human Resources.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred. Experience in Trim, CNC, Boots, Secondary Operations, or a similar manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Previous lead or training experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of department processes, quality expectations, and safe work practices.
Ability to effectively train and provide direction to employees.
Ability to organize and prioritize work based on production needs.
Ability to identify quality defects and production concerns.
Ability to use basic hand tools and operate applicable production equipment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day operational decisions…
