OPS Communications Assistant
Job Description:- Research, interview, and write news stories, faculty and student profiles, and features highlighting UF AI research.
- Develop and adapt content for AIIRI’s website, newsletter, and social media channels, particularly Linked In.
- Help plan and produce content that supports AIIRI’s communications priorities and a consistent digital presence.
- Support coverage and content development for seminars, mini-symposia, and other institute events.
- Assist with website content updates and, as needed, photography or short-form video.
- Pitch story ideas and collaborate with the Communications Manager on assignments and editorial revisions.
Commensurate with Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to explain complex topics clearly to nontechnical audiences.
- Familiarity with digital communications and social media.
- Strong organization, time management, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Current enrollment in public relations, journalism, advertising, media production, communications, or a related degree program.
- Experience with news or feature writing, interviewing, or other forms of reporting.
- Interest in science, technology, AI, or research communications.
- Experience with Word Press, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, photography, or video editing.
