Assistant Director of Development

Overview

The University of Florida is hiring an Assistant Director of Development for the College of Pharmacy. This role manages fundraising efforts by cultivating prospects, closing gifts, and coordinating events to support the college’s development goals while aligning with university-wide advancement strategies.

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual and mid-range gift prospects focusing on individuals, corporations, and foundations with gifts between $5k and $250k.
• Manage corporate sponsor ships and coordinate fundraising events such as alumni councils and giving day projects.
• Utilize tools like Ascend database and contact management systems for prospect management and record keeping.
• Collaborate with internal teams and serve as a strategic partner to align fundraising with university goals.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to motivate volunteers and donors are essential.

• Required qualifications include a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience; position is open only to current UF employees.
• Preferred experience includes development, alumni affairs, public relations, and higher education fundraising knowledge.
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), internet browsers, email platforms, and donor database systems is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel; business expenses are reimbursed.
