Minimum Requirements
- Masters degree with a major in nursing or another health-related area.
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), this position is responsible for direct care and case management of adolescent, adult and pediatric patients with infectious diseases and HIV, including inpatient at UF Health. The APRN works within established protocol/scope of practice and collaborates with licensed medical professionals. Responsibilities include participating in clinical care under physician supervision, assisting with specific medical program, research and clinical operations for care coordination in a multidisciplinary outpatient medical clinic (UF CARES), counseling patients, and providing primary and specialty care to HIV infected and affected patients.
The APRN assesses and manages patients with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, establishes plans of care, prescribes medications, facilitates patient participation, collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, and other medical professionals, documents patient information in EPIC EMR, collects and interprets lab/radiology/pathology reports, provides health education, supports research protocols, obtains informed consent, and serves as an advocate for patient safety.
$115,000 to $130,000 annually depending on education and experience.
Required Qualifications- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Master's degree with appropriate training as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
- Experience in ambulatory care settings.
- Experience with HIV patients.
- Experience with both children and adult patients.
