Job Summary
Capable clinician with previous specialty experience preferred. The RN will provide direct, safe patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team in the Woody Stewart Heart Failure Unit, an intermediate care unit with 24 beds. Responsibilities include assessment, education, monitoring, and treatment of patients with LVADs, pulmonary artery catheters, and other cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, educate, monitor, care for, and treat patients with LVADs, PA catheters, and other heart failure indications.
- Provide bedside and central nurses’ station continuous cardiac monitoring.
- Perform early ambulation and manage strict I/O for all patients.
- Administer IV diuretics (Lasix, Bumex) and cardiac drips; manage PA catheter and CVP monitoring.
- Educate patients on managing life with heart failure.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient rounds and care plans.
- Lead or participate in unit council activities to improve NDNQI indicators, RN satisfaction, and patient experience.
- Document and coordinate patient care across shifts.
- Ensure de‑escalation training certification as required.
Lift up to 100 lbs; carry up to 50 lbs; frequent kneeling/molving and standing/walking; vision moderate; intensity of work 31‑65%.
Minimum Job Qualifications- Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
- Associate’s Degree (ADN) or Diploma.
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- BSN degree.
- Experience in heart failure or intermediate care settings.
